Ellen Cappard is an artist and writer who paints in watercolors, sometimes using elements of collage. Cappard loves building hues with each layer. In her practice she enjoys exploring the textures and different finishes of papers. Cappard takes an illustrative approach, telling a memorable story in composition using color and texture that reflects the inner world of the subject. Storytelling for Cappard is both visual and literal. Reflecting on the inner worldview of her subjects she hopes to encourage the audience to receive the reflection and apply it to their own inner world.
